A timber house blending in with the forest.The forest house in the province of Zeeland is a fully timber residence for a couple, who work from home most of the time.

The L-shaped one storey volume embraces the private garden, an open space that slowly flows into the surrounding forest.
While the front facade is outspoken in composition, it remains introverted towards the street.

The garden facing facade however, has large glass surfaces to smoothen the transition between the interior and the forest.

The house also blends in with its surroundings by cladding the facade with a combination of untreated wood (Iroko) and Japanese burnt wood (Shou sugi ban).
